Kia Joorabchian is still working on a transfer for Carlos Tevez after his move to Corinthians collapsed earlier this week, and is “not overly worried” about finding a suitable alternative destination.

Tevez’s proposed return to Corinthians broke down on Tuesday when the club announced there was not sufficient time to come to an agreement with Manchester City. It means Tevez’s only hope of a move before the transfer window closes at the end of next month will be to join another European club – and City will demand their full £50 million valuation for that to happen.

Joorabchian, the player’s representative, insists there is still plenty of time to engineer the player’s desired move away from Eastlands

“This is Carlos Tevez we are talking about, one of the best players in the world,” he told the BBC. “We are not overly worried. He wants to leave but is still a City player at the moment and we will of course respect that. We’ve just got to wait and see who comes in next for him.”

Of the failed moved to Brazil, he said: “This deal was always going to be difficult because of the timing. In the end, this came down to small details, to haggling over a relatively small amount of money, and it couldn’t be done in time.

“To say that Corinthians could not provide guarantees for the money is nonsense. Firstly, they are the biggest club in Brazil. Secondly, any club that makes an offer and cannot pay will get suspended by FIFA and have points deducted.”
